It's rare to find such stunning natural beauty, glass-clear aquamarine seas, and vast marine life combined with top-flight visitor services and accommodations, and as a result Cozumel's devotees are legion. Divers sharing stories of lionfish and sharks sit table-to-table with families tanned from a day at the beach club, while Mexican couples spin and step to salsa music in the central plaza. But the elephant in Cozumel's big and bountiful room are the throngs of cruise-ship passengers who take over the countless crafts and jewelry stores along the seaward boulevard downtown any day there are ships in port—which is to say, just about every day. But take just a few steps off the beaten path and this little island offers big rewards. Deserted, windswept beaches, wild and vibrant natural parks, and 600 miles of coral reef are still yours for the discovering. Just 19 km (12 miles) off the coast, Cozumel is 53 km (33 miles) long and 15 km (9 miles) wide, making it the country's third-largest island. Plaza Central, or just "la plaza," is the heart of San Miguel, directly across from the docks. Residents congregate here in the evening, especially on weekends, when free concerts begin at 8 pm. Heading inland (east) takes you away from the tourist zone and toward residential areas of town. Most of the island's restaurants, hotels, stores, and dive shops are concentrated downtown and along the two hotel zones that fan out along the leeward coast to the north and south of San Miguel. The most concentrated commercial district is between Calle 10 Norte and Calle 11 Sur to beyond Avenida Pedro Joaquin Coldwell. Cozumel's solitude-seeking windward side also has a few restaurants and one hotel. Unless you want to stick around your hotel or downtown San Miguel for your whole stay, you'll do well to rent a car or a scooter. New choices like Pappardelle with Braised Lamb, Coffee Glazed Roast Duck and Hawaiian Shrimp Poke are sure to please, to be honest… almost every palate. That’s why Carnival’s new vegan dining room menu is so important to making sure everyone finds food they love. Look for plant-based options like Baked Vegetable Au Gratin, Eggplant Cutlet a la Parmigiana — and even modified versions of Hawaiian Salmon Poke and Spaghetti Carbonara! Atop our tablecloth you’ll enjoy courses of dishes — antipasti, entrées, pasta and desserts — inspired by our Italian captains’ and officers’ childhoods. It’s all served famiglia-style, because we know that sharing tales of your day’s adventures is best with large plates and great company. Speaking of which, the walls are not only adorned with old snapshots from the crew’s family albums, but you might even find the captain dining at his own table in the corner… all evidence that the rustic Italian country-home atmosphere you see is no façade.

Try a fresh-off-the-grill burger Guy’s way, or take it off-road to our toppings bar and truly make it your own. And since Guy’s vision for burger perfection knows no borders, our Fun Italian Style ships each feature a Guy’s Burger Joint location that adds exclusive Italian flavours to the menu. (We’re talking a pepperoni pizza burger, plus the Super Melty Mootz, which comes smothered in — you guessed it — mootzarella cheese!)

Remember, you’re in Guy Fieri’s house — Carnival is home to the world’s first Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse, so we do things Guy’s way. After all, he’s a BBQ Hall of Famer!

Turn your special vacation in the direction of delicious — book a table for an unforgettably delectable evening at the onboard Steakhouse. Our menu features mouthwatering premium cuts of beef cooked to your exact specifications, as well as a fantastic selection of seafood, entrées, gourmet appetisers... and even a wine list that got the nod from Wine Spectator. (They actually call it the Award of Excellence.) The Steakhouse’s atmosphere pairs remarkably well with, and perhaps even enhances, the culinary creations of our gourmet chefs.

The Barbecue Hall of Famer is bringin’ some big time meats like Championship Pork Butt, Smoked Round of Beef, Smoked Andouille Sausage and his famous Blue Ribbon Chicken as well as rockin’ sides like Mac Daddy Mac n Cheese, Old Skool Potato Salad and Collard Greens. Throw in his signature line of barbecue sauces and you’ve got a rockin’ sea day on deck.

Featuring an amazing variety of casual dining spots, each just a few flip-flopped steps from the last, Lido Marketplace always has a special something ready to satisfy your latest craving spectacularly. Here we do it with dozens of what-to-eat options... great choices like BBQ, a deli counter, salad bar, an Asian station and a pasta bar... plus one spot where the chef serves up a different surprise daily! On Carnival ships, the captain tends to be kind of a big deal — almost a celebrity. On a few select ships, they’ve even got their own pizza kitchen. The best part? Pizzeria del Capitano is open to everyone, 24 hours a day! And since our captains tend to be Italian, you know the quality of the ingredients truly pass muster. (Sorry, nautical pun.) Hand-tossed dough, made from imported Italian flour, plus fresh mozzarella form a solid base, and a choice of toppings put the finishing touches on this piping hot, fresh-from-the-oven mealtime — or anytime — classic. Looking for a little taste from the old neighbourhood? Pile 'em high at the Carnival Deli. Enjoy old time favourites like a hot pastrami on rye, grilled Reuben, or roasted turkey breast on a country roll. Our sandwiches and wraps are always hand-carved and served fresh with coleslaw or relish. Come by, satisfy your craving for a great sandwich and make sure you don’t forget the kosher dill.
Kids' Menu
Our kids’ menus, available at most onboard dining venues, feature foods that are delicious enough — and fun enough — to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. We’ve got all the familiar options they love from home, like spaghetti and meatballs, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, mac-n-cheese, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and — yes mom — fresh fruit and veggies. They should save room for dessert, though, because with sweet stuff like banana splits and chocolate brownies, your young’uns are going to be pretty excited. There’s even 24-hour pizza and ice cream… but these are subject to bed-time, of course.
KIDS' MEALS FOR CAMPERS
With so many fun things to do aboard, your kid will surely work up an appetite. A room full of too-serious old men, many wearing monocles, paying top-dollar for priceless antique works of art. If that’s the "art auction" that comes to mind, adjust your expectations before your Carnival® cruise! Unlike a stodgy auction house, your vacation features a series of auction events designed to turn high art into high fun. From the rapid-fire "Lightning" action to the cheap thrills of the "under $500" event, there are plenty of chances to try your hand at bringing home something great and have a blast doing it. Unlike land auctions, we even hold fun interactive events like the "Guess the Price" competition. MINI GOLF
Ah, imagine a perfect day out on the links, the golfer's zen of the ball, the hole and nothing in between but well-manicured fairway... plus one cactus, a treasure chest... and wait, is that a windmill in the way? Just who designed this course anyway? Whoever it was, they had one thing in mind — maximum fun for mini-golfers, big and small! That's precisely why you'll find a course on every Carnival® ship, where you can hit the holes and take in everything you’d expect, like the sights and the sounds... plus the seagulls.
JOGGING TRACK
Jogging may not immediately come to mind when you think of things to do at sea, but it probably should. You don’t have to walk on water, you just have to get on a Carnival cruise. After all, if you’re going to jog, you’d be hard-pressed to find a place to do it with a more scenic view, or a more refreshing breeze — both of these are available in abundance when you go for an open-air jog on the upper-deck. Jogging tracks are available on almost all Carnival ships, and are even padded for long-distance comfort.
BASKETBALL
You may think basketball is all about the hoop and getting the ball in there, but you may not have ever played on a Carnival® ship. Here, it’s all about the journey to the hoop: the view and the sea breeze you take in as you drive your way past defenders to put the rock in the bucket. Say, that actually reminds us of cruising — the destinations may rock, but it’s all about getting there. (Be warned, though — on our court, strange as it may seem, traveling is still considered a foul.)
Pickleball
If you’re hungry, the deli is that way! But whether you’re a pickleball novice or kind of a pro, we’re serving up a spot on-board where you can meet up for some friendly competition. In this scaled-down tennis-like game — pop! — oh hey, that’s just the way it sounds when someone hits the ball, you’ll get used to it. This game’s history goes way back to the 60s but it’s gotten pretty popular lately, and best of all your cruise is a great time to learn the simple rules and take a whack at this game — pop! — yep, like they just did. So if you’ve ever played tennis, ping-pong or badminton, you might already have the skills. And even if you haven’t, just — pop! — pop on over for a game.
Volleyball
A Carnival cruise is all about service. There’s usually someone to take you dinner order, make your bed, bring you drinks, give massages at the spa, and so on. In fact, there’s actually very little aboard where you’re left to fend for yourself. Volleyball is an activity we’d definitely term to be — pardon the pun — self-service. That said, whatever your serving style happens to be — overhand, underhand, sidearm — you can take to the court and get the play started your way.

You can actually enjoy a lot of the same stuff they do, plus manly services like razor-close barbershop-style shaves — pair one with a facial to really get a good thing going up top. Speaking of the barber, a cruise is a great time to rock a whole new hairstyle, a quick grey-hair darkening, or even just a fresh trim. And what guy wouldn’t go for a little extra relaxation with a massage? Exactly, bro.
Medi-Spa
Has anyone told you lately that you’re a beautiful person? We’re telling you — we like you the way you are. Now, with that said, we want to let you know that your Carnival cruise contains a Medi-spa. We’re certainly not saying that you need them, but if you’ve been thinking about Botox or Dysport treatments, this spa is a good place to do them. Get them on vacation and they’ll always be administered by our onboard Medi-spa physician, a licensed medical doctor. These are non-surgical, anti-wrinkle procedures that show results in days, and last for months, so you can keep enjoying the benefits even after you’re back home.
Fitness Centre
We have some bad news for you — your ship has a gym. In other words, there’s no excuse for leaving your fitness routine back on land. That’s great news, however, for your body, which will definitely benefit from all the extra energy that vacationing pumps directly into you. And let’s not forget the extra time you’ll have, since you won’t be waking up and spending most of the day at the office or anything like that. If those were some of your go-to excuses, we’re sorry, but we all know this is important. Why not treat yourself to some of our fitness classes — you might even have a little fun while you do something great for yourself!

Whether it’s yoga, pilates, indoor cycling or boot camp, there’s a fitness class that’ll get you the workout you need, and the instruction you need to do it right. Looking for a little extra attention? Look to personal training for a workout with that personal touch.
Acupuncture
Lots of pins in your body — who would want that? Lots of people, clearly — acupuncture is performed all around the world, and has been used for all manner of ailments for thousands of years. Whether you’re looking to pinpoint a specific health concern or just searching for a different way to relax, our onboard, licensed acupuncturist’s table is a great place to do it. (Some common ailments that draw people to the acupuncturist? Back pain, arthritis, digestive disorders and more.)
Outdoor Fitness
Hey, who left a gym on top of the cruise ship? Whoever it was, they’ve done us a favor! If you’re gonna sweat it out during your cruise, why not do it outdoors and enjoy a great sea breeze… and the greatest view? Grab a seat and work the bike or work your way around the vita course for a little of everything. Speaking of variety, why not switch off between our outdoor and indoor gyms, to work a little change of pace into your daily workout?
Camp Ocean
The little ones can enjoy the best parts of summer camp, year-round aboard their Carnival cruise. At Camp Ocean kids will have a blast in supervised, age-based groups and give each a cool marine-life label: Penguins (2 to 5 years), Stingrays (6 to 8 years) and Sharks (9 to 11 years). Together with their group they’ll enjoy tons of fun-filled, age-appropriate activities like arts and crafts, songs, games, toys, dancing, movies and video games. When it’s mealtime, kids eat together and get their own menus with back-on-land faves like mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and more. The whole time, our experienced counsellors will be there to make sure everyone in these small groups has an amazing time. Plus, when the sun goes down it’s Night Owls time — fees apply, but kids get to stay up late having fun while their parents also enjoy themselves well into the night.
ARTS AND CRAFTS
To kids, arts and crafts is a fun way to spend an afternoon. Camp Ocean® presents plenty of creative opportunities for budding Picassos to master Monets, and kids can express themselves with all kinds of crafts from painting to jewellery-making. You know, future living-room-museum pieces.
Circle 'C'
What does the C in Circle “C®” stand for? Well… how about “cruise,” “chill” and “connect”? (Just to name a few, of course.) It’s the onboard spot where teens ages 12 to 14 go to hang out, meet new friends, and enjoy some pretty awesome activities. Like what? Think dance parties, games, outdoor movies and more, some in the exclusive Circle “C” lounge and others around the ship. These are all supervised by the friendly and fun-loving counsellors who make sure teens have the best vacation ever.
Club O2
Your parents deserve a nice vacation… but then again, so do you. So let’s let them go do their thing while you do yours. Where to? Club O2. Hang out and do stuff like watch movies, listen to music from this decade, play sports and video games, join karaoke jam sessions… maybe even have a pool party or two, all with other teens between the ages of 15 to 17.
Night Owls™
Think back — as a kid, was there anything better than times you got to stay up late? Even as an adult, nighttime is funtime, especially with all there is to do on your Carnival cruise. We have the perfect thing for you AND for your kids, and it’s called “Night Owls™"! For a nominal fee, kids 11 and under can fun it up with others their age until as late as 1 a.m. They’ll enjoy music, activities, games and giveaways at supervised parties while you enjoy… whatever it is you do at night these days, all without a worry.
ZSPA
There’s a lot to being a teen — they need to kick back, chill and sometimes even indulge just as much as adults… if not more! We understand them, which is why we’ve tailored our onboard ZSPA treatments to their unique needs. ZSPA keeps teens looking their best from head to toe, with everything from trendy hairstyles to pedicures. Okay, so it’s not all about looking good — it’s about feeling great too. We make that happen, whether they want to do more for themselves with specialised fitness classes, or perhaps do a little less with relaxation and indulgence programs worth ‘ooh’ing and ‘ahh’ing about. So whether it’ll be your teen’s first time, or they’re already a seasoned spa pro, we speak their language at ZSPA.

Since kids have virtually unlimited energy — and you know they definitely bring it with them on vacation — your Carnival cruise will get your kids moving and developing with Zumbini®, created by Zumba® & BabyFirst™. On every sailing, kids 2–5 years old will enjoy a free 30-minute Zumbini class that brings together the same musical fun that families love on land. The class features Zumbini songs, activities, special instruments and more, all in the name of movement. And on sailings six days or longer, we’ll be hosting a Family Zumbini class where parents can join their kids and our youth staff for guided activities focusing on parent-child bonding… and, of course, fun!
Build-A-Bear Workshop At Sea®
A Carnival cruise gives kids plenty of chances to make new friends… but never before quite like this. When kids visit the Build-A-Bear Workshop At Sea®, they use their little hands and big creativity to bring a new stuffed friend to life. They can customise their furry friend from head to toe by choosing the bear, clothing and accessories. The cuddly bears are actually just the beginning — these stuffed friends come in all shapes, like a dog, bunny, shark, The Cat in the Hat… even a bear with a special Carnival-exclusive design! See The World
Everyone can expand their horizons on a Carnival cruise…but it’s especially true for teens. Cruising allows for unique experiences viewed through a new lens. That’s why we’re hosting See The World, special authentic celebrations that expose teen cruisers to holidays and traditions from cultures around the world. Actual activities will vary by ship and age group, but we celebrate Holi Festival, which originated in India, with authentic craft activities, rickshaw races and a Bollywood-style dance class, to name a few! We honor the Japanese Cherry Blossom Celebration with traditional elements such as an anime drawing class, a tea ceremony, origami lessons, and a Zen musical soundscape. And that’s not all…we mark the occasion of the Philippines’ Panagbenga Festival with a flower parade, cultural jewelry-making activity, a Tagalog language scavenger hunt and more. Our See The World program is proof that enriching fun can happen on vacation!
Space Cruisers
Exploration is an important part of the Carnival cruise experience, but why stop at the seas? For cruisers aged 2–11, there’s a new vacation experience called Space Cruisers™, which introduces kids at Camp Ocean to the wonder of space exploration. We’re doing it in partnership with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, so budding astronomy fans can enjoy the authenticity of NASA-inspired activities to help them blast off to a love of the cosmos. Activities vary by Camp Ocean age group and sailing, but some include building and racing Mars Rovers, designing and testing bridge physics, playing space-themed bingo, plus hands-on learning about how objects orbit in space. And completing “missions” will even earn you a special exclusive mission patch! 3, 2, 1… FUN!
